FROG 100 Mk.2 Gold Head (1958)

The FROG 100 Mk.2 was launched in 1958. It featured an appealing gold anodised cooling jacket to set it apart visually from other FROG engines that shared some parts and had a similar appearance. The design of the FROG 100 Mk.2 required a 18 thick walled liner as it made use of the larger capacity FROG 150 crankcase to lower production expenses.

The FROG 100 Mk.2 can be used with a surprisingly wide range of propeller sizes. For maximum power output a 7x4 propeller can be used which it will turn at around 15400 RPM. However it also has enough bottom end torque to perform well when loaded down to 2500 RPM with a propeller size of 13x6.

Capacity 1.025 cc (0.0625 cu in) - Bore 0.416 in (10.57 mm) - Stroke 0.460 in (11.68 mm) - Power 0.103 BHP 15400 RPM (0.077 KW) - Weight 3.25 oz (92 g) - Ignition Diesel (compression ignition) - Induction Front rotary valve - Piston Liner Cast iron piston Hardened leaded steel liner - Crankshaft bearing Sintered bronze - Crankshaft thread 2BA
